I wanted to take a minute to clear up a rumor that is circulating via social media and amongst student groups. Earlier today a student posted a picture of one of our bathrooms that was vandalized, and made an allegation on social media that there are security cameras in the school bathrooms.
First, there are not any security cameras in any of our bathrooms. The privacy of both students, staff, and visitors is important to us, and having security cameras in those areas would be a violation of privacy. The photo shared on social media was taken by a staff member who used it to report vandalism to our security staff. The photo was taken after checking to be sure that there were no other students or staff using the bathroom.
Second, I would like to thank those concerned parents who saw the social media post and contacted us immediately. When these concerns are reported directly to high school administration/security, we can quickly respond. I appreciate the opportunity to provide reassurance and factual information, and it is super helpful to be able to correct this.
