This year, Washougal School District has planned a “Soft Start” for Kindies. Students will experience their first days of school in small amounts. Kindergarten students attend only two half days the first week of school. The afternoon sessions are when teachers will be reaching out to schedule their WA Kids parent connection conferences. Slow/Soft start for Kindergarten helps them transition more smoothly to the start of the school year and builds their confidence for a successful year. We know this format will be supportive for kids as they ease into learning. This format will support the students as they learn about their teacher, school, and classroom routines. Please see the schedule below. For those of you taking the bus it will drop off after school dismisses for Kindergarten at 12:40pm.

September 6, 9:10-12:40 am ALL Kindergarteners, in person learning for a half day in the morning, Afternoon Family Connections Meetings with Teachers
