In order to make it easier to find back to school information you need to get ready for the first day of school, we’ve gathered all the information onto this page.

The first day of school is September 3, 2024. Please check your school’s website for specific information, important dates, and updates.

Canyon Creek

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM

Cape Horn-Skye

  • Thursday, August 29th, 4:00-5:00 PM – Cape Horn-Skye Kindergarten Orientation (Meet teachers, go for a bus ride, tour the school, receive information on a day in the life of a kindergartner, answer questions, and more!)
    Thursday, August 29th, 5:00-6:00 PM – Cape Horn-Skye Back-to-School Night for all grades (come any time in this timeframe to see the classrooms, meet the teachers, drop of school supplies, and see friends)

Columbia River Gorge Elementary

  • August 28, 2024 5-6:30 PM CRGE Back to School Night
  • August 27, 2024 5-6pm CRGE Kindergarten Orientation
  • September 19, 4-5pm CRGE Transition to Kindergarten (TTK) Open House

Gause

  • Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5-6 PM (1st through 5th grade)
  • Kindergarten orientation is August 29, 2024 from 4-5 PM
  • TK orientation will occur in September, details TBD

Hathaway

  • Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 5:00 pm
  • Hathaway Kindergarten orientation August 22, 10:00 to 11:00 AM

WLA

  • Orientations are available by appointment.

WHS

  • Athletics night will be Monday, August 19, 2024 at 6:00 PM
  • WHS Ninth Grade and New Student Orientation – August 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM
    All students new to Washougal high school are invited to learn about the school, standards based grading policies, pick up their Chromebook, and get logged in to prepare for the first day of school. Fellow students will give students a tour and answer questions. Note: No pictures or ID cards are being done on August 22.  All students will have their picture taken and ID/ASB cards created on the first day of school.

  • WHS New Student Registration event – August 22, 2024 at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
    All grade level counselors will be present to work with students on course selection. Please bring a transcript if possible. This event is for students new to Washougal who have not yet chosen classes for the new school year.

2024-2025 Bell Schedule

Please note the new start time for Hathaway Elementary and the Developmental Preschool!

All children attending schools in Washington state must provide medically verified Immunization Records.  Students who do not receive the required immunizations or provide exemption information will be excluded from school starting on the first day of school.

Families should submit a new Free & Reduced Meal Application each school year by the 30th day of school. The Free & Reduced application provides free breakfast and lunch, as well as discounts for fees, scholarship opportunities and more.

Carry over ends 10-14-2024: For 2024-2025 year, October 14th is the 30th day of the school year. Any students receiving free or reduced meals on a carry over status from 2023-24, who have not turned in a new form, will be charged full price starting on October 15, 2024. Families with questions about their application or who need assistance should contact Julie Ferguson at the District Office, 360-954-3069.

Meal prices for the 2024-2025 School Year

Meal prices for the 2024-25 school year are available on the Culinary Services page. Meals for students who qualify for both free AND reduced prices are free for both breakfast and lunch this school year.

Thanks to a new state of Washington program, all meals for students at Hathaway, Gause, and CRGE will be free for the 2024-2025 school year.

After August 26, 2024, your child’s bus information will be available in Qmlativ (Skyward). Please make sure to check Qmlativ Family Access (directions below) to check your child’s pickup and drop-off times.  You can find a link to Qmlativ on the Washougal School District home page under the Parents menu, using the option Parent access to student information. If you have never used the Qmlativ Family Access, you can get your username and password from the office at your child’s school.

Log onto Qmlativ Family Access with your personal username and password then follow the link to Bus info.
