This morning, there was a less than 5 minute long modified lockdown at Hathaway Elementary School. The school was directed by the Washougal Police Department (WPD) to enter a modified lockdown due to police activity in the area at 10:02. In a modified lockdown, all exterior doors into the main building and our portables are locked. Normal school day activities continued to take place, and there was no threat to our students or staff inside the building.
WPD called back less than five minutes later to release the school from lockdown after the activity in the area finished. WPD says that there was no threat to student safety at Hathaway during this police activity. School will release at the regular time this afternoon.
